Cleaning up after winter
March 8, 2026
Most of the snow has finally melted. From January until just a couple of days ago we had several inches on the ground. Now it's mud season, but I can finally get outside and start dealing with the storm and snowplow damage.
Most of it is broken limbs around the property and the driveway getting chewed up by the plow. The driveway is dirt and gravel — about 200 yards from the street to where we park. Yesterday I tackled the area near the vehicles. Tomorrow I'll finish the rest of the driveway, then head out back to assess the woods. We've got about 10 acres with a cart path through it, and I have no idea yet what kind of mess is waiting for me back there.
We're supposed to have some spring-like weather this week, so I hope to get a lot done.
